What you’ll cover in each of these workshops

Intro
Always wanted to learn a new language? (Coding language that is)… In this workshop we’ll get you started with the basics of HTML and CSS as you code your first webpage. We’ll introduce you to HTML and CSS editors, the structure of a web page, basic HTML tags, basic CSS styling and CSS selectors.

No prior knowledge is required for this workshop. We expect that you will be a beginner.

Intermediate
Delve a little deeper into methods for customising your website. In this intermediate workshop you will be introduced to the basics of JavaScript, as well as the latest features of HTML and CSS. We’ll help you get your head around HTML 5 tags, CSS 3 styles, CSS 3 animation, web fonts, browser compatibility, stylesheets and publishing your work online.

You will be provided with temporary access to a server for hosting your website, but if you want to use your own, make sure you have access to cPanel, and your FTP login details.

Advanced
It’s time to get some animation and interactivity into your website! In this advanced workshop you will be introduced to jQuery and PHP. We’ll teach you how to use the jQuery framework and jQuery selectors and animations. You’ll also go through basic PHP coding, learn about MySQL databases and creating database structure. Finally, you’ll about the differences between client side and server side processing.

You will be provided with temporary access to a server for hosting your website, but if you want to use your own, make sure you have access to cPanel, and your FTP login details.
