Maui Wowi Spreads the Aloha Spirit with Holiday Coffee Donation to U.S. Troops Serving Overseas

Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) November 20, 2013

Maui Wowi Hawaiian, a franchise known for fresh fruit smoothies and premium Hawaiian coffee, has partnered with non-profit organization, Sister Souls, Inc. to send coffee to troops overseas. Together with roasting partner Coda Coffee Company, 78 bags of gourmet Kona coffee will be added to larger care packages being sent to service members currently serving in Afghanistan and are set to arrive around the holidays.

This is the second year that Sister Souls, Inc. has sent care packages and Maui Wowi Hawaiian has had the opportunity to participate in the donation both times. The organization, which is based in Lake Orion, Michigan, was founded in 2011 as a way to pay it forward through its support of great causes aimed at helping others in need. The holiday care packages are in honor of fallen Marine Staff Sgt. Raymond J. Plouhar from Michigan who was killed in action while serving his country in 2006.

As a military friendly franchise, Maui Wowi Hawaiian is a member of the IFA VetFran Program and the SBAs Small Business Development Program. In an effort to support veterans and their entrepreneurial goals, Maui Wowi Hawaiian offers a 10 percent year-round discount off the franchise fee for those who have served in any branch of the U.S. military. Through the end of 2013, the company has doubled the discount to 20 percent off. Maui Wowi Hawaiian has been named a Military Friendly Franchise by G.I. Jobs for the past four years and was also among the 50 Top Franchises for Veterans by World Franchising Network. The holiday donation allows service members to enjoy award winning coffee from Maui Wowi Hawaiian. The gourmet beans are exclusively roasted by Coda Coffee Company, who was recently awarded the 2014 Macro Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian is honored to be a part of the generous donations organized by Sister Souls. We hope our U.S. grown Hawaiian coffee brings a little reminder of home to the troops, says Mike Weinberger, CEO of Maui Wowi Hawaiian. We are dedicated to giving back to members of our military and strive to show our appreciation for their service during the holidays and all-year round.
